Office: (301) 653- 8102
Email: charbrewer@ft.newyorklife.com

Currently I am what one might call a generalist in the insurance business working with my clients to protect the wealth and investments in case they don't live long enough to fulfill their dreams, increase their investment wealth with mutual funds and annuities when appropriate so they can retire comfortably and create a distribution of those assets to accomplish the retirement they want. When my clients need a higher level of help, I work with Jim Adkins, one of NYLIC's top agents, who has access to the extensive support system NYL has put in place to help those with a large accumulation of assets plan keep it and prepare for a better position in retirement.

I have been with NYL since 1975 - at the end of June, 2022 I will have completed my 47th year with NYLIC. I hold a Bachelors of Science degree from VA Tech in Physics and a Masters Degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla Campus in Physics. I taught mathematics at the Charles County Community College for several years before working full time as a NYLIC agent. I carry my teaching technique into my insurance business. There is never an unreasonable question. I have been working with Jim Adkins in the past several years which allows my clients access to NYL's extensive support system. In 1985, I earned my Chartered Life Underwriting (CLU) designation by passing the ten (10) nationally proctored exams and earned my Chartered Financial Consultant designation (ChFC) by passing the three (3) additional nationally proctored exams.

Since 1986, I have umpired baseball games, mostly for the Little League program. In the last two years, I have worked many high school varsity, JV and freshman games. In 2014, I was asked to work the Little League East Region Major BB Tournament games in Bristol, CT. I was assigned to work 3rd base in the championship game that Mo'ne Davis pitched her way to the Little League World Series. In 2016, I was asked to work the Little League East Region Senior BB Tournament games in West Deptford, NY. I recall that was a very hot summer. In 2022, I was asked to work the Little League East Region Intermediate BB Tournament games on Long Island, NY. These games were delayed two years due to Covid-19. I also enjoy being with my children and grandchildren as they move through life. In addition, I enjoy making things out of wood, especially designing & re-building a kitchen from the studs out to the cabinets from rough cut stock.

My passion and my purpose are, and have always been, PEOPLE. Knowledge is power, and the more you know, the more you grow. For many years, my focus was on legal advocacy as I worked to educate, inform, protect, and empower my individual, family, small business, and corporate clients.

Now, my focus is on financial literacy and mastery. I grew up in a family and community where financial literacy was not taught. Finances were not discussed – by those who had means and those who did not. Nor was it taught in my primary or secondary educational settings either. While I benefited from some knowledge, I would be much further ahead had I obtained a better understanding of budgeting, saving, protecting, and investing in my younger years. Because it is never too late to start, my mission is to learn as much as I can and share that knowledge. My work with New York Life enables me to educate and empower myself, my family, my community, small business owners, and others like me to have a secure financial future and leave a legacy for the individuals and institutions they love.

I obtained my law degree (juris doctorate) from the University of Wisconsin, after which I received my Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. My first degree is from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Public Relations, cum laude

I am fortunate to be a part of a large family. Spending time with them is where I find my greatest joy. Helping others grow and flourish is a very close second, which is why I dedicate my time and talents to volunteering in my community as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I also serve on the Foundation Board for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where we provide scholarships to help make college affordable.

My combined education and experience, coupled with my commitment to service, makes partnering with New York Life one of the best opportunities for me to operate with passion to fulfill my purpose. Life IS good!

Marisa Nor, CLTC

After spending almost 25 years in corporate and local government, Marisa decided to take a leap of faith into entrepreneurship leveraging her accounting and finance background to become licensed as a life insurance agent and Financial Services Professional. This allowed her to design her schedule around being a newly single mother and the needs of her daughters. Being able to find a profession that aligned the passion of helping others and the love of working with numbers was a blessing. That decision was made in 2012 and Marisa is thankful to have evolved into the financial services practice Sounde Financial Group as a tribute and legacy to her father.

In the early stages of her practice, she realized many individuals, business owners and families were not being given the information they needed to make the best decisions for them and their families. Marisa began incorporating financial education seminars and workshops into her practice with the hopes of providing clarity and empowerment to those that attended. She found herself gravitating to working with other single mothers, female entrepreneurs, and women in transition facing a career change, divorce, newly widowed, and retirement alongside families and young professionals. Throughout the years Marisa has expanded to working with school districts, counties, cities/villages, and small business owners to provide life insurance and retirement benefits to their employees.

As part of Marisa’s ongoing effort to add value for her clients, Marisa is certified to offer a unique educational approach to retirement planning called the Macro Asset Perspective®. Whatever stage of life you are in, whether you are working to grow your assets or your assets are working to provide your retirement income, you are likely to glean value from the principles, processes, and strategies found in the Macro Asset Perspective®. The Macro Asset Perspective® helps you implement a balanced approach to your personal accumulation & income combining time-tested principles of risk management with sensible strategies for long-term tax-reduction giving you the potential to increase your net spendable income in retirement. While this process was originally developed for a physician’s network on the west coast and high-tech engineers in the Silicon Valley it has been successfully adopted by people of all walks of life and taught at workshops for employees at a number of Fortune 500 companies.

Dick Miller

Licensed Agent

Office: (414) 963-4329
Email: rrmiller@ft.newyorklife.com

I started my New York Life career on April 15, 1970, after completing my master’s degree in sociology at Marquette University.

I enjoy working on specific financial ideas with people and working with them on their complete financial plans using the Macro Asset Perspective (MAP). MAP is a wealth accumulation strategy that encompasses principles of asset allocation relative to risk tolerance and tax treatments. Ultimately, MAP is a strategy that maximizes future net retirement income. The MAP wealth accumulation strategy takes basic financial principles and packages them into a model that is designed to give people a visual picture of where assets can be placed and why. The strategy was developed in the early 1990s and has been taught and used by many of the nation’s leading corporations.

I am easy to work with and will do my best to help my clients achieve their goals and objectives. My office manager, Cecilia Castro, is very skilled in providing service to my clients. My favorite activity, other than work, is to jog at dawn. In fact, I am affectionately known as a “neighborhood jogger”. I watch Marquette basketball and spend time with my family. My wife, Susan, and I have been married for over 52 years; we have two sons, two daughters-in-law, and three granddaughters.

One of my hobbies is driving all across the beautiful state of Wisconsin to meet with my clients at their home or office. I have worked with multiple generations within families and plan to continue helping people for a long time to come.
